I am not sure that this is where I would start, but this is where I am in my journey at the moment. First off, I like technology. My fiancé is a software engineer and calls me a "super user". I think that is his way of saying I am above average with computers. Anyways, I create websites for fun, and I like learning the basics of some coding, html mainly. That being said, I spent the weekend creating my business website. I have a few different websites and business ideas flying around in my head, so I had already done some of the research in regards to the best platform to create my website. Eventually I plan on having all my sites linked together, but for now, due to certain circumstances, I have them on different platforms. However, all but the one that I am using elsewhere are being created on weebly. I researched wix, squarespace, and weebly as the main ones I was interested in. Ultimately you should go with what you are comfortable with, and all of these options are easy to use and are drag and drop websites.
To start with, I chose not to go with wordpress because I have used it in the past, and it really is not very easy to use. Second, I looked at a bunch of sites comparing the website options. All of these that I am discussing are places to create your website. Here are some of the things I found: Wix: Very beginner friendly. Not as easy to change mobile viewing options. Once you build the website, you can't really change the template or main design theme of it. Squarespace: Less template options. You can edit the html if this is something you want to do, which just gives more flexibility. You can switch the template at any time, so if you want to do a website overhaul, you can. Squarespace is a little more rigid on where you can place things on the site you create. Weebly: Very user friendly interface. More customizable than squarespace, although squarespace has been working on this. Weebly does have less template options than squarespace, but weebly's options are a little more varying than squarespace. A little cheaper than squarespace. Ultimately since I already had this main page on weebly, I decided to stick with where I had an account already. Weebly has worked for all my needs thus far. I am including some links so you can take a look at some comparisons for yourself. Ultimately, I would do a free trial and play with them and see what you like the most. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. Happy to help to the best of my abilities. Here is a site that compares wix and squarespace. Here is a site that compares squarespace and weebly.
