My day without internet...unexpectedly

6/5/2018

First off, don't get me wrong. I love going camping and spending a week disconnected from internet and people. I think that time away from devices is really important, however today was one of those days I had a giant list of things to get done; everything from finalizing my honeymoon plans, to watching some classes online, to looking up events for our honeymoon. Needless to say, the day went a little different than I expected.

I woke up just like any other day…but today was my day to be productive and get things going with all these ideas in my head. I turned over, grabbed my phone, and pressed “mail”. To my sadness, nothing loaded. It’s common for things to not load that great every once in a while, but then I went to another app, and nothing loaded. I got out of bed without my normal routine of checking in on some companies and people I follow, and got dressed to go workout. I then headed over to my laptop. Punched in bbc.com, and nothing. Sadly, my internet was down. This is where I would normally pout a little and try and figure out what to do, before lying on the couch and putting on a movie. Instead, I did all the normal troubleshooting things, none of which worked. I then decided, it’s not 90° out yet and I am already dressed to workout. So hey, I might as well get going. I have a planned exercise for the day, so why not do it now.

Lazily, I stumbled myself across the room to grab my music device for the gym. “14% battery” appears. Snap, that won’t last! The universe was throwing every sign at me to not be productive and to not workout. Instead of taking the out, I still trudged to the gym (garage). Once I got there, I just started powering through. Today was an arm day, so nice and easy, didn’t take too much energy, and to my surprise only took me about 30 minutes, when in the past it took me about 45-60 min. After I finished, I was way more happy with myself, and my arms are still burning a little from the bicep curls. I am proud of myself for not taking the universe’s signs and pushing through.

So the purpose of today’s blog post is to say, even if you really don’t feel like today is the day to do something, do it. You will likely feel better about yourself afterwards and you won’t waste the day away. I really wanted to get things done via the inter webs, but instead I spent some me time, worked out, and worked on personal development. I also came up with some other ideas/concepts and (gasp) wrote them down. It was a nice few hours, disconnected. I will have a more busy day on Thursday getting some important things done, but that's ok. So basically, go for it. Whatever "it" is for, try it out and take the jump. What are you going to do today?

PS - It is 4 hours later, still no internet. I guess I will be posting this later tonight or from a coffee shop in a few hours.

PPS - The coffee shop won!
